The 29th Annual Postsecondary Disability Training Institute (PTI) will be held on May 30 – June 2, 2017 in Boston Park Plaza HotelBoston, Mass. Registration is now open (early bird discount until April 28).
Sponsored by the Center on Postsecondary Education and Disability at University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education, PTI is an intensive training opportunity for professionals working with students with disabilities in higher education. Now in its 29th year, PTI is held in conveniently located cities in the Northeast each June and draws over 300 participants per year from across the United States and Canada.
Participants have the opportunity to work with and learn from experts in the field through sessions on various key topics. All session formats provide adequate time for attendee/presenter interaction, while the strand formats also provide follow-up activities throughout the week. Students with disabilities, as well as peer mentors, are also invited to attend.

This interactive panel discussion will focus on the opportunities and challenges of conducting research and getting publications from school collaboration and demonstration projects. Panel members will provide examples of current partnerships with teachers, schools, and districts and lead a conversation about strategies for asking and answering research and practice questions in complex applied settings.
Description of B3 Series: CBER’s Breakfast Brown Bag (B3) Series is designed to provide an early window into innovative research conducted by, or in collaboration with, CBER research scientists. Researchers are invited to share current work, and audience members are encouraged ask questions, engage in problem solving, and discuss issues in applied research with CBER researchers. Faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students interested in applied research are welcome.
