7th CBER GA Symposium: Call for Posters

 

The Center for Behavioral Education and Research (CBER) in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut is hosting its 7th Graduate Assistant Symposium, an annual student-led conference, on May 12, 2017. We expect a high volume of attendees this year, especially because U.S. Senator Chris Murphy and Education Counsel Catherine Holahan will be our keynote speakers. This is a great opportunity for you to present your own research posters to a large number of people! Please go to the survey and submit your proposal by Friday, April 28, 2017.

Dr. Devin Kearns joins a panel about the Intensive Intervention Professional Development Pilot Project

CBER Research Scientist Devin Kearns was part of a panel about the Intensive Intervention Professional Development Pilot Project at the Association of Rhode Island Administrators of Special Education (ARIASE) with Bristol-Warren Regional School District. David Sienko, Rhode Island Department of Education’s Director of Special Education, facilitated the panel discussion.  More than 30 special education directors and staff from across the state attended to hear about the pilot project.

Dr. Kearns and Leslie Anderson, director of pupil personnel services for Bristol-Warren, discussed the five years of work they have done to implement intensive intervention as part of the National Center for Intensive Intervention.

Dr. Michael Coyne becomes the Editor of the Elementary School Journal

 

Dr. Michael Coyne has been selected to be Co Editor-in-Chief of the Elementary School Journal. Dr. Suzanne Wilson and Dr. Sarah Woulfin from the Neag School  will be Associate Editors.  Congratulations, Drs. Coyne, Wilson, and Woulfin for bringing this influential journal to Neag!

The Elementary School Journal has served researchers, teacher educators, and practitioners in the elementary and middle school education for more than one hundred years. ESJ publishes peer-reviewed articles that pertain to both education theory and research and their implications for teaching practice.
